The Tomb of Xiong Gui is a cultural relic protection unit of Xinjian District.

Introduction:

This tomb was discovered in 1985 during a cultural relics survey organized by the county museum. The original tomb featured ornamental columns, stone figures, stone horses, and a memorial archway inscribed with the four characters “龙章宠汤” (Imperial Favor Adorned). Currently, the stone figures and the archway are destroyed, with only eight fragments of the stone horses remaining. Fifty meters in front of the tomb are two granite columns that once served as ornamental posts, each 270 cm long, square-shaped, with each side measuring 36 cm. The tomb is encircled by red stone, with a diameter of seven meters, and has no gravestone.

Xiong Gui, whose given name was Xiong Gui, served as the Provincial Administration Commissioner of Yunnan during his lifetime. Many folk tales are associated with him, and he is regarded as a notable local official.

In the same burial area, there are also the tombs of Xiong Xuétáng (literary degree holder), who was the Right Vice Minister of the Ministry of Personnel in the Qing Dynasty, and Qiu Songting, who was the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Works in the Qing Dynasty. All three tombs were robbed in 1933.
