Yidu Ancient Well is a cultural relic protection unit of Xinjian District.

Introduction:

This well was discovered during a county cultural relics survey in May 1985. The well ring bears an absolute dating mark of “the first year of the Hongzhi era” (1488 AD). It was carved from marble, octagonal on the outside and circular with a diameter of two Chinese feet on the inside. The well walls are built with vertical blue bricks, narrowing three meters above the well ring to form a bottle-shaped structure with a small mouth and wide belly. The water is clear and cool, and the well is still in use. However, due to its long history, the well ring has been deeply grooved by ropes to a depth of five centimeters.
