Mengshan Reservoir Water Conservancy Scenic Area

Mengshan Reservoir Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a national water conservancy scenic area.

The newly built Mengshan Reservoir Water Conservancy Scenic Area is located within Xinjian County, Nanchang City, situated on the tributary of the Gan River known as the Jin River. It is developed around Mengshan Reservoir and Xiaofeng Reservoir, and is classified as a reservoir-type water conservancy scenic area, covering a planned area of 31.1 square kilometers.

The scenic area boasts lush forests and bamboo groves, offering a tranquil and elegant atmosphere, while its shimmering waters are dotted with circling egrets. With its beautiful landscape of green mountains and clear waters, the area is rich in historical relics and cultural artifacts. Sites such as the "Mengshan Stone Chamber," "Hanwang Temple," and "Tomb of Zhu Quan" are steeped in legends and historical significance, holding considerable archaeological and aesthetic value. The area is also uniquely characterized by its "dream culture," with abundant tourism resources themed around dreams. The local government, centered around the theme of "good mountains, good waters, seeking dreams amidst the landscapes of Mengshan," has leveraged the area’s outstanding scenic advantages to create a culturally distinctive and picturesque water conservancy scenic area. The site receives over 300,000 visitors annually, demonstrating significant social, economic, and ecological benefits.
