ZheLiu Bridge

ZheLiu Bridge is a cultural heritage site protected by Nanchang City.

ZheLiu Bridge is located 50 meters northeast of Caojia Natural Village, Shangban Village, Luoting Town, Wanli District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. The bridge is 13 meters long, 1.5 meters wide, and stands 2.7 meters above the water surface, running in an east-west direction.

Originally built during the Qingli era of Emperor Renzong of the Northern Song Dynasty, the existing stone bridge was a massive reconstruction from the 60th year of the Qián reign during the Ming Dynasty. The bridge foundation consists of irregular pyramidal-shaped boulders formed by flowing water. There are four bridge piers, each built from nine layers of boat-shaped stone blocks. The pointed tips of the foundation stones were not flattened but instead carved with grooves at the base of the lowest layer of each pier, which then interlock over the inverted stone tips, creating a tight and seamless structure of layered stones.
