Former Site of the Taipingwei Meeting

The former site of the Taipingwei Meeting is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism destination.

The former site of the Taipingwei Meeting is located at Daijia Wu in Taipingwei, Changfu Town (now Taiping Primary School), where the General Front Committee of the First Front Army of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army held the “Taipingwei Meeting.” The site consists of three buildings: two main houses standing side by side, facing west and measuring six meters in height, featuring a courtyard, front and rear halls, covering an area of 437 square meters; and one schoolhouse named “Xiyin Shushe,” facing north and connected to the main houses, measuring five meters in height and covering an area of 62 square meters. Behind the main houses and to the east of the schoolhouse lies a large courtyard, built in the early years of the Republic of China and still well-preserved.

On October 22, 1930, the First Front Army of the Red Army arrived in Huangtu Street, Taipingwei, and Luofangwei from Xiajiang. Mao Zedong stayed at Wenchang Palace (now Taiping Primary School). On the 23rd, the General Front Committee held the “Taipingwei Meeting” at Daijia Wu to continue discussions on the military operations of the Red Army. On the 25th, the headquarters of the First Front Army moved from Huangtugang to Luofang in Xinyu, where the famous “Luofang Meeting” was held. This meeting established the strategy of “luring the enemy deep into our territory,” ultimately completing a strategically significant and historically important shift.

Changfu Town: Geographic Location

Changfu Town is a township under the jurisdiction of Zhangshu City, located southwest of Zhangshu City, approximately 35 kilometers from the city center. The terrain is flat in the south and hilly in the north. It borders Linjiang Town to the east, faces the river across from Xin’gan and Xinyu to the south, adjoins Huangtugang Town to the west, and neighbors Wucheng Township and the provincial Shuangjin Horticultural Farm to the north. The town government is headquartered on Chengtou Street (in 1958 it belonged to Huanggang Commune, in 1961 Changfu Commune was established after being split off, changed to a township in 1984, and upgraded to a town in 1996). The town currently administers 17 administrative villages, one neighborhood committee, 118 village groups, 8,297 households, and a population of 27,565.
