The Kawazu-zakura cherry blossoms at Zhangshu Lake in Alishan’s Taihe area have erupted in breathtaking bloom ahead of the official Alishan cherry blossom season. A series of delicate pink blossoms are in full display, set against gray-tiled roofs, ethereal clouds, and rolling mountain ranges — the view is like a traditional Chinese landscape painting.

This Kawazu-zakura is located along the road at Zhangshu Lake in Taihe Village. It’s just a 15–20 minute drive from Fenchihu to Taihe or Laiji, making it the earliest blooming Kawazu-zakura in the Alishan area.

The surroundings of the Kawazu-zakura have become even more picturesque than before. Even during the New Year’s holiday, the owner was still tidying up the area. The newly installed wooden railings are simple yet retain local character. Next to the railings, several tea tree saplings have been planted, along with bamboo fencing. Stone tables and chairs are also accompanied by steps.
