Spring is in full swing, marking the liveliest season at Maokong Camphorwood Trail. Following the spectacular display of cosmos flowers along the trail in 2015, the trail management has now sown lupine seeds in the fallow lands along the path. After more than three months, the flowers are about to burst into vibrant bloom, resembling strings of golden wind chimes. Don’t miss this chance to head up the mountain and witness the dazzling golden sea of lupines. The lupines are currently about 50% in bloom, and the flowering period will continue until the end of March.

To achieve a balanced and sustainable development between ecological conservation and economic development, local tea farmers collaborate each year to plant lupines along the Camphorwood Trail after the winter tea harvest as a fallow crop. When the flowers are in full bloom, the beautiful contrast between the green tea bushes and yellow lupines attracts large numbers of visitors.
