Sigui Village

Sigui Village is located in the northwest of Nanling Township, Lianhua County, Jiangxi Province. The village covers a total area of approximately 5.6 square kilometers, with a current agricultural population of 1,451 people. The village has 952 mu of arable land, including 765 mu of paddy fields, and 5,410 mu of forested land.

In 2009, the per capita annual income of farmers in Sigui Village reached 5,020 yuan. The village currently has 8 party groups and 39 party members. The average age of party members is 55, with the oldest being 82 years old and the youngest 23 years old; 10 members have received education at the high school level or above. The village was recognized as a “Beautiful Village” in the Pingxiang City New Rural Construction initiative for three consecutive years from 2007 to 2009, and in 2010 it was awarded the titles of “Civilized Village” in Pingxiang City and “One of the Hundred Most Beautiful Villages” in Jiangxi Province. In recent years, the Sigui Village Party Branch has taken the opportunity of studying and practicing the Scientific Outlook on Development, aiming to build an ecologically civilized new Sigui, and has made full efforts to advance the construction of a new socialist countryside. It was honored by the Pingxiang Municipal Party Committee as a “Model Site of ‘Five-Good’ Grassroots Party Organizations in the City” and a “Top Ten ‘Five-Good’ Grassroots Party Organization Model Site in the City for In-Depth Study and Practice of the Scientific Outlook on Development.” Following three consecutive years of recognition as a “Beautiful Village” in the city and a “Five-Good” Grassroots Party Organization Model Site in the city, the village was also awarded the title of “Demonstration Village for Democracy and Rule of Law” in the province.
