Time to admire lotus flowers in summer — the Baihe Lotus Festival is here!

It’s once again the season to admire lotus flowers. The annual Baihe Lotus Festival kicks off on June 5, this year under the theme of “Midsummer Glow of Lotus.” Visitors are invited not only to enjoy the blossoms but also to explore the lotus-growing region and experience the rich local culture filled with heartfelt charm.

Affected by cold fronts this year, lotus growth has been slower than usual, and the planted area has decreased by 50 hectares compared to last year. To ensure visitors still have a great time, the organizers have introduced four tour routes: the Red Route for flower viewing, the Green Route for ecology, the Blue Route for Pingpu culture, and the Brown Route for hot springs. Visitors can choose different routes based on their interests and explore the entire Baihe area.

Now in its 21st year, the Baihe Lotus Festival has evolved this year. In addition to admiring lotuses, the event integrates with surrounding communities to offer a variety of rural experiences. Through a light rural travel approach, visitors can delve into the region’s agriculture, culture, and ecology.
