The 2017 Taoyuan Lotus Festival kicked off on July 1. In the scorching summer heat, visitors can enjoy the beautiful sight of blooming lotuses along the roadsides of Guanyin Township in Taoyuan. And besides admiring the lotuses with your eyes, you definitely shouldn’t miss the chance to experience “walking on water like a kung fu master”! Lian He Garden

Covering an area of 2 hectares, Lian He Garden also features a Five Elements Eight Trigrams maze. With a variety of lotus species, you can not only ride on giant lotus leaves, but the park also offers barbecues, clay oven pits, straw swords, scarecrows, straw brushes, straw sandals, clay prints, straw rope braiding, lotus leaf tea, lotus leaf rice cakes, and lotus leaf dumplings as part of its DIY outdoor activities.

Kangzhuang Lotus Garden

Though not very large, Kangzhuang Lotus Garden is known for letting visitors ride on giant lotus leaves. It attracts many visitors during peak season, and if you want to capture a stunning floating photo, you might need to wait a bit. While waiting, you can also admire the lotuses in the nearby pond.

Lin Family Old House

The spacious Lin Family Old House features a lotus field covering about 7 hectares, rest areas, a melon shed, and the old house itself. It focuses on lotus appreciation and selling related products. During the flower season from June to October, you can also see sunflowers and wild ginger flowers.
