2010 Baihe Lotus Festival: Summer Romance in the Lotus Village with Creative Floral Cuisine

The "2010 Baihe Lotus Festival" officially commenced on June 12. This year, in conjunction with the "Vibrant Lotus Fragrance – Summer Love for Baihe Lotus Industry Culture" event, Baihe Dazhu Community hosted the "Lotus Village Cycling Tour" and "Baking Good Taste" activities during the festival, showcasing community development achievements and revitalizing cultural industries. On June 12, the "2010 Honest Lotus Marathon & Lotus Appreciation Fun Run Feast" demonstrated the warmth of Baihe. To complement the industry culture and art activities, the Baihe Children's Education Foundation also held the "Love Lotus, Paint Lotus – Children’s Sketch Competition" on June 12, leaving behind the most beautiful testament to Baihe’s continuous transformation and progress.

Over the nearly two-month-long Lotus Festival, local organizations also arranged hands-on experiences such as lotus seed shelling in the fields, lotus village music performances, lotus picking, and DIY lotus village character crafts, offering visitors a higher level of participation. On June 13 and June 20, there will also be a "Deep Love for the Lotus Village" tour, led by guides from the Dianzikou Cultural and Educational Association, taking participants through the charm of lotus fields and strolling in the Lotus Park to experience the leisurely pace and sentiment of the lotus village.

To integrate lotus produce with tourism, the Baihe Township Farmers' Association has developed a lotus seed feast. The names of the lotus meals are creatively devised, using lotus seeds, lotus flowers, lotus roots, and lotus stems to prepare a variety of distinctive dishes. The lotus seed platter, lotus seed spring rolls, lotus leaf fragrant rice, and Phoenix Lotus are all worth trying. After admiring the swaying green lotus leaves and gracefully beautiful lotus blossoms, why not choose a restaurant nestled in the sea of flowers and enjoy a lotus-flavored set meal in an environment filled with the subtle fragrance of the lotus village?
