Fanglou Jiangshan Village

As a provincial-level rural tourism demonstration site, Jiangshan Village is located east of Fanglou Town in Lianhua County, five kilometers from National Highway 319. The village covers a total area of five square kilometers, has an agricultural population of 648 people, and boasts a forest coverage rate of 93%. Jiangshan Village is relatively rich in coal resources. Since the reform and opening up, it has made due contributions to the development of both the county and rural economies. In recent years, as coal resources have been nearing depletion, it has become imperative to transform the economic growth model and achieve industrial transition. Over the past few years, the people of Jiangshan have demonstrated exceptional wisdom and diligence to accomplish remarkable feats. In 2003, a five-meter-wide cement road was built from Yachajiao to Jiangshan, and in 2007, another five-meter-wide cement road connected Jiangshan to Gaozhou, greatly improving transportation. In 2005, the village was recognized as a Model Civilized Village, and from 2006 to 2008, it was successively named a Socialist New Countryside community for three consecutive years, earning praise from both residents and higher authorities. Through years of effort, the village has been completely revitalized: every household now has access to cement roads, running water, branch roads, greening, and lighting. In 2007, it was awarded the title of "Most Beautiful Village in Jiangxi Province's New Countryside Construction," in 2008, it received the honor of "Jiangxi Province’s Most Livable Environmentally Beautiful Village," and was also listed among "Pingxiang City’s Top Ten Beautiful Villages." Here, mountains and waters complement each other, offering a warm winter and cool summer. Nestled near a bustling city yet enjoying tranquil seclusion, the village features excellent ecology, lush green fields, a civilized rural atmosphere, and an environment where "no one picks up lost items on the road"—making it the perfect destination for leisure farm stays and vacation tourism. In 2010, it was selected as a Provincial Rural Tourism Demonstration Site in Jiangxi Province.
