Lianhua Lianjiang National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Lianhua Lianjiang National Wetland Park: The planned area covers 755.07 hectares, with wetland area totaling 622.34 hectares, accounting for a wetland ratio of 82.42%.

Lianjiang is the main river in Lianhua County and is hailed as the “mother river” of the local people. It originates from Gaotianyan, flows southeast through the county town, and enters the Hechuan River of Yongxin at Longshankou. Lianjiang is formed by the convergence of six major tributaries, with a total length of 69.43 kilometers and a drainage area of 901.47 square kilometers, accounting for 89% of the county’s total watershed area. The source of Lianjiang sits at an elevation of 1,230 meters, and the river has an average gradient of 0.0156. The slope of the riverbed above the county town gradually steepens, and the width of the river gradually narrows, resulting in rapid water flow. It is classified as a mountainous river. From the county town to the Longshan Kou section, the water depth generally ranges from 1 to 1.5 meters, but can exceed 7 meters during flood periods. The riverbed width is around 80 to 120 meters.

In recent years, Lianhua County has effectively implemented the “river chief system,” strengthening the protection of the Lianjiang wetlands and ensuring that the Lianjiang remains “unobstructed, clean, green-lined, and scenic.”
