Former Site of the Gao Tan Military Conference During the Autumn Harvest Uprising

The Former Site of the Gao Tan Military Conference During the Autumn Harvest Uprising is located in Gao Tan Village, Gao Zhou Township, Lianhua County, Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province. Built in the late Qing Dynasty, it is an ancestral hall-style building with gray bricks and blue tiles, consisting of two directly connected sections with a brick-and-wood structure. Originally the private residence of villager Wang Ren, it covers a construction area of 297 square meters.

On September 24, 1927, when the troops of the Autumn Harvest Uprising led by Mao Zedong entered Gao Tan Village in Lianhua County from Luxi, morale was very low due to the death of Commander-in-Chief Lu Deming. Mao Zedong held a military conference in Gao Tan, counted the number of troops and weapons, and stated that “the troops must not disband in Gao Tan.” With his simple yet moving revolutionary reasoning, he dispelled the pessimism among the troops. In 2016, the National Cultural Heritage Administration allocated 1.4 million yuan for the restoration of the historic site itself.

Maximum construction height: 20 meters. Area: 1,209 square meters; 2. Former Site of the Gao Tan Military Conference During the Autumn Harvest Uprising (Former Residence of Martyr Wang Ren): The boundary is the protected area, extending 12 meters outward in all directions. Maximum construction height: 20 meters. Area: 1,557 square meters.
