Five Dragons Rock Cliff Inscriptions is a cultural heritage site protected at the Jiangxi Provincial level.

Five Dragons Rock Cliff Inscriptions, a provincial-level cultural heritage site. Located about 4 kilometers west of the county town, in Xiwai Village, Qincheng Town, at the southern foot of West Huashan Mountain. The rock stretches 150 meters in length and is about 3 meters wide at its broadest point. There are multiple inscriptions on the rock. From the Song Dynasty, Chen Xiaorong’s inscription: five seal-style characters “清胜五龙岩” (Clear and Superior Five Dragons Rock) in running script, carved in intaglio, using traditional Chinese characters. The two characters “清胜” (Clear and Superior) are on the top, measuring 120 cm in length and 57 cm in width. The three characters “五龙岩” (Five Dragons Rock) are below, measuring 180 cm in length and 57 cm in width. In the lower left corner, there is an intaglio inscription in regular script: “嘉定己卯结夏日邑人陈孝荣书” (Written by Chen Xiaorong of our county on the Summer Solstice, JiMao Year of Jiading, by a local man), also in traditional characters. Chen Xiaorong was the seventh son of Chen Min, holding the official title of Martial Classics Doctor and Commander of the Vanguard Army under the Palace Front Command. From the Song Dynasty, Zhao Dongzhi’s seven-character regulated verse poem 《停骑》(Stopping the Horse) is inscribed; after the poem is a note: “嘉熙戊戌上已，邑令三山赵东之来访灵迹，偶得句，因笔于石.” (On the Shangsi Festival of Jiyou Year, JiXi, Magistrate Zhao Dongzhi of Sanshan visited this sacred site, spontaneously composed lines, and inscribed them on the stone). From the Yuan Dynasty, Li Kejia’s poetic inscriptions: two poems in total — a five-character poem 《昔人题诗》(Poem by a Man of Old) and a seven-character regulated verse 《一枝绿竹》(A Sprig of Green Bamboo). Before the poems is an introductory note: “天历二年己巳冬十月，朝观五龙岩。昔贤留题，追和二首，丰城李克家.” (In the tenth month of the winter of Jiyou Year, Tianli 2, I visited Five Dragons Rock at dawn. The Five Dragons Rock Cliff Inscriptions are a precious historical and cultural relic, possessing extremely high value in history, art, and scientific research. In December 1987, it was designated as part of the third batch of Jiangxi Provincial Cultural Heritage Sites (Document No. Gan Fu Zi [1987] 122). The Longyan Waterfall is one of the Eight Scenic Spots of ancient Qincheng River and has been the subject of numerous literary odes.
