Millions of irises bloom in a stunning display at Ibaraki's flower fields

Ibaraki Prefecture in Japan, blessed with abundant natural beauty, is home to many popular flower-viewing spots. The Suigo Tatsuta Iris Garden will hold the "Suigo Tatsuta Iris Festival" starting May 28. Visitors can admire the elegant purple, white, and yellow irises in full bloom, as well as experience the region's traditional wooden boats, known as "ro boats," and nighttime illuminations.

The historic water town of "Tatsuta" will also hold a "Bridal Boat" event. According to local tradition, brides travel by the traditional wooden boat, or "ro boat," during their wedding procession. Onlookers along the riverbanks offer blessings, reflecting the area's long-standing customs. Visitors can enjoy the unique sight of the bride crossing the river.
