Miyagi Prefecture in Japan now has a Michelin Guide — enjoy gourmet food while viewing the autumn foliage this year

Michelin-starred restaurants aren’t only found in Tokyo and Kyoto-Osaka areas. Since the Michelin Guide expanded into Japan, special editions have been released periodically for regions such as Hokkaido, Fukuoka•Saga, Hiroshima, Yokohama•Kawasaki•Shonan. Now, there’s even a special edition for Miyagi. Though there are no three-star restaurants, ? Kessai has secured the sole two-star spot, with 11 one-star restaurants.

Among the 276 restaurants featured in Miyagi Prefecture’s first Michelin Guide special edition, there are no three-star restaurants, one two-star restaurant, and 11 one-star restaurants. Most of the starred restaurants are concentrated in Sendai City. Visitors coming here to view the autumn foliage this season can also enjoy a meal at a Michelin restaurant. As for value-for-money eateries, there are 37 listed, including types such as izakayas and ramen shops. Additionally, 227 recommended restaurants are also featured.
