West Huashan Mountain of Yuntai

West Huashan Mountain is only 5 kilometers from the county town. With steep cliffs and towering peaks, climbing to the top offers a breathtaking view where all other mountains seem small. Looking west to east, the purple shale hills, embraced by green pine forests, resemble “Mongolian yurts” set in a vast grassland. On clear days after rain, the panoramic view of the county town below is crystal clear and stunningly beautiful; if thick fog pours down and sea of clouds surges with tremendous momentum, the scene—known as “Dark Ridges, Pine Trees, and Clouds”—is ethereal and dreamlike, once celebrated as one of the Eight Scenic Spots of the Qin River.
