The Xiang Family Ancient Residence is a cultural heritage protection unit of Ma'anshan.

The Xiang Family Ancient Residence: Located at Xiaobeimen in Yunchao Town, Hanshan County. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty.

On June 5, 2015, the Xiang Family Ancient Residence was announced as part of the fifth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Ma'anshan.

Protection zone: 10 meters outside the structure itself; construction control zone: 15 meters outside the structure itself.

Yunchao Town: Yunchao Town was first built during the Northern and Southern Dynasties, with a history of nearly 1,500 years. Around the year 530 AD, Emperor Wu of the Liang Dynasty of the Southern Dynasties sent General Hou Jing of the Eastern Wei to lead troops across the river and develop this barren land, naming it “Liaohuazhou.” During the Three Kingdoms period, Cao Cao stationed troops here while campaigning against Wu, digging the Caoyun River for military transport and grain supply. In the Chenghua era of the Ming Dynasty, the town took its name from the river.
