Song Imperial City Beach

Song Imperial City Beach is located at the northern end of Shipu Town, a renowned fishing port on China’s southeastern coast and a historic and cultural town in Zhejiang Province. It serves as the main venue for the annual China Xiangshan Fishing Festival Opening Ceremony. Stretching 1,800 meters in length, the beach features sands as flat as paper and slopes gently toward the sea at an angle of less than 15 degrees. The fine, silky-smooth sand rivals that of Putuo Mountain’s “Thousand-Step Beach” and Qingdao’s seaside.

Backed by mountains and facing the sea, the beach offers sweeping views where the sea meets the sky. In the distance, white sails dot the horizon, while waves crash in an endless surge, opening the heart and lifting the spirit. On the northern end, the cliffs and rugged rocks of Banbianshan Mountain provide a great vantage point to admire the dramatic seascape. Other attractions nearby include the beautiful Nantian Island, Huayang Island, Dafo tou Mountain, and the renowned ruins of Zhang Cangshui’s anti-Qing military camp.
