Miaoshantou Site

The Miaoshantou Site is a cultural heritage site protected by Xiangshan County.

The Miaoshantou Site is distributed across the gentle slopes to the south of Miaoshantou, extending from Maoyang Zeshan toward the original Xieqia Ferry Bay. Preliminary surveys indicate an area of over 10,000 square meters. Cultural layers are partially exposed with sections measuring 0.6–1 meter thick. A large number of stone tools have been collected, and pottery fragments are predominantly made of sandy clay and red pottery, decorated with twisted patterns, cord marks, and other designs. Identifiable artifacts include stone axes, stone knives, and pedestals, belonging to the Late Neolithic Age. This site serves as further evidence of the widespread presence of Neolithic sites in our county and highlights its profound maritime cultural heritage, marking another major discovery in the county’s archaeological work.
