The present-day Xiuzhen Temple is the result of another round of renovation, yet its layout remains faithful to the historical design without unauthorized alterations.

The temple boasts a grand and majestic layout, consisting of three courtyards: the first being the mountain gate, the second the Hall of the Great Emperor of the Eastern Peak, and the third the Jade Emperor Pavilion. On either side are auxiliary halls dedicated to the Ten Kings of Hell, the Plague Marshal, the God of Wealth, and others.

The stone-paved square in front of the mountain gate is spacious and was historically used by locals to welcome temple fairs and watch traditional operas, serving as the cultural and entertainment hub of old Wuzhen.

Above the main entrance of Xiuzhen Temple’s mountain gate hangs an oversized abacus, beneath which a couplet is inscribed: “Man may scheme a thousand plans, but Heaven has but one.” It carries a profound moral warning.
