Wuzhen Xizha
Covering an area of three square kilometers, Xizha Scenic Area is located along the ancient Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and consists of twelve islands surrounded by clear waters, accessible only by ferry. After three years of meticulous development and an investment of nearly one billion yuan, Wuzhen Xizha authentically showcases the historical charm of a traditional Jiangnan water town.
Compared to the first phase of the conservation and development project, the second phase of Xizha Scenic Area features more comprehensive and thorough preservation and development, achieving greater harmony between people, the environment, nature, and architecture. The scenic area preserves 250,000 square meters of exquisitely crafted Ming and Qing dynasty architecture. The Xizha Old Street, stretching 1.8 kilometers from east to west across the area, is lined with riverside pavilions extending over 1.8 kilometers along both banks. With nearly 10,000 meters of crisscrossing waterways and 72 uniquely shaped ancient stone bridges, the area boasts the highest density of rivers and the greatest number of stone bridges among all ancient towns in China. The northern part of the scenic area features a natural wetland spanning over 50,000 square meters. The key difference between the first and second phases is that the first phase is a "sightseeing-oriented" attraction similar to other ancient towns, while the second phase is a rare "sightseeing, experiential, leisure, and resort-style" ancient town destination in China. Here, the ancient town is no longer just a "living fossil" or "museum," but perfectly blends sightseeing and vacation functions, creating a serene oasis away from the hustle and bustle.
The streets of Xizha are filled with captivating historical sites, craft workshops, classic exhibition halls, religious architecture, folk customs, and leisure venues, complemented by breathtaking natural scenery and magnificent illuminated night views. The scenic area also offers a variety of residential guest rooms in different styles, as well as vacation hotels at multiple tiers. There are several fully equipped conference centers and high-end business clubs, accommodating up to 800 guests. Supporting facilities include a visitor service center, shuttle buses, sightseeing boats, water taxis, drinking water stations, natural gas, broadband internet, electronic patrol systems, floodlighting, star-rated restrooms, and intelligent tourist parking lots.
With the perfect integration of history, culture, nature, environment, and humanity, along with advanced and comprehensive supporting facilities, Wuzhen has truly become an ideal travel destination for sightseeing, leisure, vacation, and business activities.
Explore Wuzhen, experience the new charm of this millennia-old ancient town, and enjoy a colorful, relaxing, and dreamlike holiday.
