• Take a boat ride or stroll along the river to wander through the most beautiful waterway in Xizha. The scenery on both banks becomes especially dreamy after nightfall.

Attraction Introduction

The West Market River runs through the entire Xizha area, with the bustling Xizha Street stretching along the river, connecting most of the must-visit attractions in the ancient town. This is the main waterway for boat cruises and also the area with the densest landscape lighting in Xizha. Taking a boat ride on the West Market River at night feels like floating on a river of lights, creating a truly magical experience.

The West Market River is not very wide, and the riverside houses curve gracefully along the water, exuding the unique charm of the Jiangnan water towns. Strolling along the river or sitting for a while in a riverside café or teahouse, watching the black-canopied boats come and go on the water, is a very enjoyable experience. Photography enthusiasts might want to find a good angle on the various bridges to capture the scenic views along both banks.
