Yadao Cultural Block
Strolling along Jiaochang Road and Zhenhua Road in the Zhendong New District of Tongxiang City, you’ll come across a refreshing blend of European and Republican-era style streetscapes. This is the gathering place for literati and refined individuals — the Yadao Cultural Block. Amid leisure and entertainment, admire how the green-tiled grey-brick architecture stands amid the modern concrete jungle, where two distinctly different cultures collide in a uniquely charming way.
The Yadao Cultural Block is located in the core area of Tongxiang’s Zhendong New District, at the intersection of Jiaochang Road and Zhenhua Road on the west side of Shiji Avenue. It lies to the east of Fengming Chan Temple and the World Trade Center, and to the south of Tongxiang Bus Station, offering convenient transportation just a 15-minute drive from the Wuzhen Scenic Area. The block stretches 250 meters in length with a total construction area of 29,000 square meters. Construction began on April 7, 2009, with a total investment of 110 million RMB, and was completed in April 2011.
Currently, 80% of the shops in the block feature a mix of European architectural elements and Republican-era styles, including Chinese and Western cuisine as well as a variety of leisure and entertainment options such as KTVs, foot spas, and cafes.
