Osmanthus Village

Osmanthus Village is located in Tongxing Village, Shimen Town, Tongxiang City. It earned its name due to the abundance of golden osmanthus trees planted throughout the area and has become a new tourist attraction in Shimen Town, following the former residences of Feng Zikai (Yuanyuantang) and the ancient Fuyan Temple.

Osmanthus Village is well known for its osmanthus tree plantations. It currently has over 10,000 osmanthus trees of all sizes, including more than ten that are over a hundred years old, with the oldest — known as the Osmanthus King — reaching an age of 170 years. During the osmanthus blooming season, the fragrance wafts from every tree, and the scent can be detected from several miles away, forming a unique landscape. The main scenic area of the village is surrounded by water on three sides, with stretches of bamboo along the riverbanks and dozens of large trees such as camphor and ginkgo. This area remains lush year-round, encircled by clear waters, making it a unique rural ecological attraction in northern Zhejiang, often referred to as the “Little Guilin.”
