Yuhuan World Famous Pomelo Garden

The World Famous Pomelo Garden was originally the Citrus grandis base in Taishantang, Qinggang Town, Yuhuan County, Zhejiang Province. Located in the northern part of Yuhuan County near Yueqing Bay, it was reclaimed in 1980, covering an area of 4.5 square kilometers. It produces over 5,000 tons of Yuhuan pomelos (Chumen Wenden) annually and is the largest base for cultivating Yuhuan pomelos in the county. The Yuhuan pomelos submitted here have won the national citrus competition eight years in a row. It has received National Geographical Indication Product registration certification, was listed by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade as one of the first products recommended for the EU market, and was rated among Zhejiang Province’s “Top Ten” famous citrus brands. It was named the “Hometown of Chinese Wenden Pomelo” by the State Council. The garden features sections dedicated to various pomelo varieties from around the world, cultivating 24 renowned domestic and international pomelo types such as Shatian pomelo, Jinlan pomelo, Pengxi pomelo, grapefruit, and green pomelo for visitors to taste. The eminent biologist Professor Tan Jiazhen visited the base and spoke highly of it, personally inscribing the words “World Famous Pomelo Garden.” Hence the name. It is an excellent time to visit the fragrant World Famous Pomelo Garden for eco-tourism.
