Ruins of Taishan Fortress

The ruins of Taishan Fortress are located on the southeastern mountaintop of Taishan Village, Fantang, Qinggang Town, Yuhuan County. The fortress was built along the mountain in an irregular circular shape, covering an area of approximately 30,000 square meters.

The fortress walls were constructed with block stones and stretch about 600 meters in circumference. Currently, about two-thirds of the wall ruins remain clearly identifiable, with the most well-preserved section reaching a height of around 3 meters and featuring a trapezoidal cross-section.

In January 2004, it was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit. On January 7, 2011, it was listed as part of the sixth batch of Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Qinggang Town: Qinggang is the northern gateway to Yuhuan County and has been successively recognized as a provincial-level moderately prosperous town, one of the first provincial new rural towns, a pilot town for municipal agricultural and rural modernization, a municipal "high-quality and high-yield" agricultural demonstration town, and a municipal comprehensive advanced unit. In 2005, the town achieved a total social output value of 5.138 billion yuan, with an average rural per capita income of 8,425 yuan. Qinggang is rich in resources and has fertile land, with rapid development in both industrial and agricultural sectors, commerce, and trade. Key industries include plumbing and sanitary ware, casting, copper ball valves, and furniture.
