Kuocang Mountain

Introduction: The first ray of dawn in the 21st century over China’s southeastern coastal region shone at 6:42:54 AM on January 1, 2001, on Misailang, the highest peak in eastern Zhejiang and the main summit of the Kuocang Mountain Range, standing at an elevation of 1,382 meters. Located west of Zhangjiadu Town, the mountain features steep slopes, drifting clouds, and a landscape that appears and disappears like a mythical island. The peaks are dotted with legendary sites such as Sword-Plugging Rock and Horse-Racing Flat, which are rare in southern China. A spectacular large-scale wind farm is also located here. Within the mountain area lies Guxi’ao, the province’s highest hydropower station, along with the first-level Chekouxi Power Station. The ancient town of Zhangjiadu has a rich cultural heritage and was historically a renowned ferry crossing on the Yong’an River. With its deep, clear waters and beautiful scenery on both banks, attractions include Elephant Trunk Rock, Floating Rock Inscriptions, the Ming Dynasty “Imperial Tomb,” and the Five-Bay Thirteen-Room Ancient Residence. It is also a great spot for summer rafting. This scenic area is still under development, with limited transportation and facilities. There is no entrance fee, but general visitors should proceed with caution. Transportation:

Take a minibus from Linhai City to Zhangjiadu Town, then hire a farm tricycle to get there

Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province
