Yangyan Mountain Tea Culture Park

Yangyan Mountain Tea Culture Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Yangyan Mountain Tea Culture Park is located on Yangyan Mountain, which stands at an altitude of 780 meters, approximately 30 kilometers from downtown Linhai. Covering a total area of 3,500 acres, including 1,500 acres of tea plantations, visitors can enjoy panoramic views from the summit — the Sanmen Bay to the east, the city of Linhai to the south, the peaks of Kuocang Mountain to the west, and the clouds over Huading Mountain to the north. The site was historically named for the “sheep-like rock shadow on the mountain’s cliffs,” and today it is famed for producing the “Number One Dark Green Tea of the South.” Its meticulously crafted premium tea, Yangyan Dark Green, is distinctive for its twisted shape, glossy green color, and bright infusion. It is especially noted for its lasting fragrance, mellow and refreshing taste, long-lasting brew, and excellent storage qualities. The “Yangyan Mountain” trademark has also been recognized by the provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce as a Famous Trademark of Zhejiang Province.

In September 2009, Linhai Tourism Investment Company and the tea plantation jointly invested in the development of the park, centered around the concept of “Yangyan, Nourishing the Eyes, and Nourishing Beauty.” They fully explored the cultural significance of tea, Buddhism, Taoism, and ecology, restoring and constructing tourist attractions and facilities. The Tea Culture Park spans approximately 20 square kilometers, including about 5 square kilometers of tea gardens, and is composed of four main functional areas — Yangyan Tea Ceremony, Summit of Yangyan, Tea Fun Park, and Tea Ecological Park — along with dozens of scenic spots. It is the first comprehensive tea culture theme park in China that integrates ecological tea garden sightseeing, tea culture exhibitions, tea tasting and leisure, youth science education, and tea processing industrial tourism, all characterized by experiential activities. It was approved as a National AAA-level Scenic Area in 2011.
