Destination Introduction

Baiquan Mountain is located 20 kilometers from Huairou District in Beijing, situated between Yanqi Lake and Yougu Shen Tan, along both sides of National Highway 111.

The scenic area gets its name from the legend of the Baiquan Fairy. Stretching 15 li in depth, the mountain hides hundreds of springs that keep the valley streams flowing continuously.

Baiquan Mountain features four major characteristics: one beauty (the beauty of the mountain), two wonders (the wonder of its peaks), three beauties (the beauty of its waters), and four superlatives (the uniqueness of its valleys).

The scenic area is characterized by “loveliness and abundant water.” Its unique landscape is formed by peculiar peaks, elegant rocks, rare trees, springs, pools, waterfalls, streams, rivers, and wild fruit forests. It has a considerable scale and complete service facilities, including a 1,400-square-meter comprehensive service building and an 8,000-square-meter parking lot.

Overview: Baiquan Mountain Scenic Area is located at Beitaizi in Huabei Town, Huairou District, and is primarily a natural landscape destination. The area features beautiful mountains, peculiar peaks, quiet valleys, dense forests, steep cliffs, continuous waterfalls, and interconnected pools.

Upon entering the scenic area, visitors are greeted with picturesque mountain scenery reminiscent of the Jiangnan region—each step reveals a new view, full of charm. Unique cliffs and strange rocks come in distinctive shapes, with each cliff and stone offering a different scene to spark the imagination. Highlights include the “Flying Rock” standing aloft, as well as the “Turtle Gazing at the Moon,” “Ten-Thousand-Year Stone Monkey,” “Buddha’s Palm,” and “Meditating Monk Listening to Scriptures,” all remarkably lifelike. Legend has it that wherever the Baiquan Fairy pointed her finger, springs emerged, resulting in numerous springs scattered across Baiquan Mountain, creating various landscapes such as springs, pools, waterfalls, streams, and rivers. Regardless of the season, Baiquan Mountain offers gurgling springs and melodious dripping water year-round.

Major waterfalls include the Heavenly River Waterfall, Arhat Waterfall, Heaven-Reversing Waterfall, and Flying Sky Waterfall. Notable springs include the Happy Fish Spring, Azure Dragon Spring, Wise Fish Spring, Holy Mother Spring, and Immortal Bathing Spring. At the back of the scenic area, there is a waterfall hanging from the cliff top with a drop of over 60 meters, resembling the Goddess of Mercy sprinkling sweet dew with her holy vase—hence named the “Guanyin Waterfall.” This waterfall flows continuously in spring, summer, and autumn, while in winter it forms massive ice cascades, a spectacular sight. The Monkey Valley features countless kiwi fruit trees, forming a stunning green valley at the far end of Baiquan Mountain, like a vast green net covering the valley. There are also countless hawthorns, wild pears, hazelnuts, sour jujubes, and mulberries—an exceptionally rare sight.

Transportation Information

Visitors can take bus 936 directly from Dongzhimen, or take bus 916 to Huairou and then transfer to a local shuttle bus to reach the area. Transportation is very convenient.
