NO.1 Miyun Qingliang Valley
Xiangshui Lake — another naturally endowed and picturesque tourist destination in the suburbs of Beijing. Located to the west of the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall in Huairou, it is 28 kilometers from the county town, covering a total area of 18 square kilometers. It is a natural scenic valley that combines the Great Wall, ancient caves, mountains, springs, pools, and waterfalls.
Reason for recommendation: Xiangshui Lake has many scenic spots. You can choose a place with both mountains and water for your picnic and freely enjoy a “restaurant” in nature. You can laugh out loud and sing to your heart’s content. The spring water at Xiangshui Lake is especially worth recommending — sweet and refreshing, making it perfect for cooking.
Transportation: Located in Dazhenyu Village, Bohai Town, Huairou County, Beijing, it is easily accessible.
Bus route: Take bus 916 from Dongzhimen to Huairou, then transfer to a minibus to Dazhenyu; or take Railway Tourist Train 3/4.
Driving route: Follow the Beijing–Shunyi Road to Huairou, take the Qingchun Road Roundabout toward Mutianyu and Bohai, turn right at the intersection near Dongtai, and follow the road to the end.
