The Water Great Wall Scenic Area is located in the southwest of Huairou District, adjacent to Changping and Yanqing. Known for its unique landscapes and famed for its beauty, it is a tourism and leisure destination that integrates lush green mountains, clear waters, and the ancient Great Wall. The area boasts picturesque scenery where mountains and water coexist in harmony, complemented by the majestic views of the ancient Great Wall. It combines the charm of southern water towns with the rugged landscape of northern China, hence earning the reputation of “Scenes beyond the frontier, charm of Jiangnan — all at the Water Great Wall.”
In April, when spring is in full bloom, the peach blossoms at the Water Great Wall are at their most enchanting. The remnants of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall, winding like a giant dragon across the landscape, stand proudly against a backdrop of withered yellow — their broken walls still exuding the grandeur of a bygone era. Among them, the delicate peach blossoms, with their tender buds and fresh petals, burst forth with vibrant life amidst the solemn and desolate atmosphere.
