Tianchi Gorge Scenic Area is located at No. 48 Huangtuliang, Huairibei Town, Huairou District, Beijing, 76 kilometers from downtown. It is adjacent to National Highway G111. The altitude ranges between 400-1200 meters, with temperatures consistently 5-6 degrees lower than in the city. The area has 150 times the negative oxygen ion concentration of urban areas, earning it the reputation as a “natural oxygen bar.” The scenic area features uniquely shaped rocks—some standing atop high cliffs, others leaning against slopes, appearing as if they might tumble down at any moment, inspiring awe. Streams meander through the valley like a green dragon, their waters crystal clear and gleaming. The course twists and turns, now opening into bright vistas, now leading into secluded nooks. There are also rare flowers and plants, ancient trees, the serene and elegant Lovers' Valley filled with birdsong and floral fragrance, and the majestic Sound of Waves Valley interlaced with ancient vines. The area boasts blooming flowers in three seasons and scenic beauty all year round. In spring, admire romantic mountain blooms; in summer, enjoy cascading waterfalls and flowing springs; in autumn, harvest abundant fruit; in winter, discover the magic of icefalls. It feels like stepping into a paradise on earth.

Outdoor activities at Tianchi Gorge include team-building exercises, camping, rock climbing, rappelling, stream tracing, and wilderness survival—distinctive training programs. Military-style team-building helps strengthen communication and trust within your group, maintaining team cohesion. Sleeping under the stars at the eco-friendly campsite fosters unity and mutual support among team members. Rock climbing and rappelling build strong willpower and confidence, while hiking and stream tracing allow participants to connect with nature and enjoy life.

Thanks to its unique resources for outdoor survival training, Tianchi Gorge has attracted numerous teams and is now designated as an Outdoor Survival Training Base for China University of Geosciences and a Training Base for the Beijing College Students’ Outdoor Sports Association.

The China Revolutionary Broadcasting History Memorial Corridor maintains a constant temperature year-round, offering warmth in winter and coolness in summer—a great place for leisure and summer retreat. Stretching across Panlong Ridge, the corridor is over 200 meters long and was originally the site of a secret broadcasting transmitter for Beijing Radio. Constructed in 1965 and decommissioned in 1971, the site once featured a transmitting tower about 20 stories high on Panlong Ridge. The entrance had machine gun emplacements, bunkers densely positioned on the mountaintop, and guards stationed everywhere. Inside, there were water storage tanks, bathrooms, and complete plumbing facilities. Additionally, the power supply included three modes—overhead lines, underground cables, and self-generation—to ensure electricity supply during emergencies.

The broadcasting studio was equipped with sound-absorbing materials, delivering excellent sound quality. Between 1965 and 1971, renowned broadcasters worked here. After being decommissioned, years of neglect led to power failure, and equipment such as towers, power amplifiers, and generators were dismantled or damaged.

To remind future generations of the history when superpowers massed troops along China’s borders and economically pressured the country, this site has been developed and restored to provide Three Defenses education and quality development programs for youths. It can also serve as a base for Party and League activities. Visitors can reflect on the past, revisit history, and draw inspiration for moving forward.

Huairibei Town: Located at the junction of mountainous and plain areas in northern Huairou District, Huairibei Town is 8.5 kilometers from the urban center. The town covers an area of 104.72 square kilometers, with 78.3% being mountainous and 21.7% consisting of plains and hills. It has 10 administrative villages and a total population of 12,000.

Huairibei Town enjoys a superior geographic location and convenient transportation. National Highway 111 runs north-south through the town, with multiple long-distance bus stations along the route.
