Jiankou Beam
Jiankou Beam is an iconic spot on the Jiankou section of the Great Wall.
The Jiankou Great Wall is located in Badahexiang, northwest of Huairou District in the suburbs of Beijing, at an altitude of 1,141 meters, about 30 kilometers from Huairou County. The mountain terrain here is highly varied, and the Great Wall perched atop perilous peaks and cliffs appears even more majestic and treacherous. The Jiankou Great Wall gets its name because this entire section of the wall winds in a W shape, resembling a drawn bow with an arrow nocked. It is one of the most famous and perilous stretches of the Ming Dynasty’s Great Wall, and has been the most frequently photographed section in various Great Wall pictorials in recent years, making it a popular spot for Great Wall photography.
