Suzhou enjoys the reputation of being "Paradise on Earth," alongside Hangzhou, and is one of the first 24 historic and cultural cities designated by China. The city currently has 69 classical gardens, among which the Master-of-Nets Garden, Humble Administrator’s Garden, Lingering Garden, and Mountain Villa with Embracing Beauty are the most famous. Dushu Lake at Soochow University also has its own unique charm, attracting thousands of visitors each year and becoming a favorite spot for couples to stroll in the evenings.
