Hotels not only provide travelers with comfortable resting places but can also become part of beautifying the neighborhood and showcasing artistic trends. From now until November 25, Taichung City will hold the “Neighborhood vs. Creativity—Create. Art. Central District” event, using the concept of a neighborhood art gallery to collaborate with six hotels in central Taichung. With the theme of green creativity, multiple renowned artists have been invited to use materials such as paper, plants, butterflies, and Taiwan’s traditional qiaoj cloth to create distinctive cultural and artistic landscapes. Additionally, the series of events includes an old building façade beautification project, which has invited Zou Jun, winner of the American 3x3 International Contemporary Illustration Awards and double first prizes at the Bologna Children's Book Fair in Italy, to create a large 26m × 10m mural featuring the culture and heritage landmarks of the central district, which will be displayed on the building at the intersection of Section 1, Taiwan Boulevard, and Freedom Road.

The “Green Creativity” themed installation event invited paper-cutting artist Wu Gengzhen, who has collaborated with LV and CHANEL, to work with Xing Yue Hotel to create a series of paper-cut works related to travelers and environmental protection. Taipei Flower Expo competition first-prize-winning floral designer Lan Mike collaborated with Fulltime Orange Hotel to encapsulate over a hundred blue morpho butterflies—among the most beautiful and precious in the world—in acrylic prisms, capturing their moment of flight and symbolizing rebirth. The art team from National Taichung University of Education collaborated with Holiday Inn Express to use paper, the medium closest to nature, to present a green art and jungle atmosphere. Guo Zhengzhong, the Natural Fermentation Team, and Yiwun Hotel collaborated to use clean lines and simple color blocks to give flat patterns a sense of spatial depth. The art team from Tunghai University collaborated with Xiyuan Hotel to showcase Taiwan’s traditional qiaoj cloth, reminding people of the hard work, value, and effort of past generations. Chaoyang University of Technology and Chengtrip Jingzan Hotel collaborated on a plant-themed installation, creating a naturally soft landscape.
Additionally, the “Old Buildings, New Looks” building façade beautification project invited internationally renowned illustrator Zou Jun, who hails from Taichung and won the 2011 American 3x3 International Contemporary Illustration Awards and double first prizes at the Bologna Children's Book Fair in Italy, to create a large 26m × 10m mural titled “When Clouds Rise.” Inspired by the cultural features of the central district, famous historical sites, grid-like streets, and environmentalism, the mural will be displayed on the building at the intersection of Section 1, Taiwan Boulevard, and Freedom Road, formerly the site of Taichung’s most expensive land. It showcases a humanistic care for the hometown. In line with the mural’s theme, there will also be a “Flowing Cloud Light and Shadow Show” projected onto the century-old Chang Hwa Bank building at night, illuminating the central district.
During the event period,in addition tosix Green Creativity installation locations in the central district—Xiyuan Hotel, Chengtrip Jingzan Hotel, Xing Yue Hotel, Yiwun Hotel, Fulltime Orange Hotel, and Taichung Park Holiday Inn Express—a “Visit Green Creativity” popularity voting activity will be held.
