As the saying goes, “A mountain need not be high — it is famous so long as there is a deity on it.” Qionglong Mountain, located in Wuzhong District, Suzhou, is just such a mountain celebrated for its gathering of “immortals.” It was once home to the ancient military strategist Sun Wu, author of the classic treatise on warfare, The Art of War; Emperor Qianlong, who made six southern tours to pray for the people’s wellbeing; the Taoist priest Shi Liangsheng, builder of the premier Taoist temple in the Jiangnan region, Shangzhen Temple; and Zhu Maichen, a famous prime minister of the Western Han Dynasty…
Recently, Zhang Xinyuan, often dubbed the “nation’s top beauty,” came to Qionglong Mountain to shoot a series of ethereal portraits. Though not as widely renowned as ancient celebrities, her “fairy-like” look — with flowing long hair and fluttering plain attire — blends harmoniously and beautifully with Qionglong Mountain’s otherworldly scenery. Together, they vividly showcase the mountain’s stunning natural landscape and rich historical culture.
