New Concepts in Intellectual Aid to Tibet Reflect Unity Between Tibetan and Han Peoples. From October 10 to 22, with strong support from the Hubei Provincial Tourism Bureau and the Shannan Regional Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the Shannan Regional Tourism Bureau held a tourism business knowledge training course and a skills training course for rural tourism operators in the region. The instructors were mainly from Hubei University, Central China Normal University, the Hubei Provincial Tourism Bureau, and the Tibet Autonomous Region Tourism Bureau.
During the training, Ke Donghai, member of the Standing Committee of the Shannan Prefectural Committee and Deputy Head of the Administrative Office, visited the experts and some trainees, urging them to make the most of this rare learning opportunity and truly gain knowledge that could be applied in practice.
The participants of the tourism business knowledge training course were mainly deputy county magistrates in charge of tourism from across the region, heads of tourism bureaus in various counties, and key personnel from tourist hotels and scenic areas. The training covered topics such as "Rural Tourism Development and Star-Rated Farmhouse Evaluation," "Interpretation of Tourism Law," "Policy Analysis on National Development of Tourism in Ethnic Minority Areas," "Tourism Planning," "Festival Management," and "Tourism Statistics Methods." Zhang Linlin, Deputy County Magistrate of Naidong County and a Wuhan aid-Tibet cadre, said that the content delivered by the experts was information-rich, highly targeted, and practical, offering strong guidance for future tourism work in the region.
The skills training course for rural tourism operators targeted mainly key personnel with development potential, selected by counties. The training included "Rural Tourism Development and Star-Rated Farmhouse Evaluation," "Basic Tourism Safety Knowledge," "Service Etiquette," "Housekeeping Service Skills," "Food and Beverage Service Skills," as well as hands-on practice—both theoretical and practical. Trainees expressed their intention to apply the knowledge learned to guide real-world operations, aiming to establish more standardized management practices and more considerate services.
It is reported that in June this year, Qian Yuankun, Director of the Hubei Provincial Tourism Bureau, led a team to Shannan to inspect paired aid-Tibet work. He noted that the provincial tourism bureau would increase support in areas such as tourism talent training, tourism project construction, and tourism route recommendations to help accelerate the development of tourism in Shannan. This tourism business knowledge training session is an important measure of Hubei’s paired aid-Tibet tourism efforts. The goal of organizing this training was to learn from the advanced experiences and practices of inland provinces and cities in tourism development, broaden perspectives, update concepts, refine thinking, and continuously enhance the professional theoretical level of Shannan’s tourism personnel and their capacity to upgrade tourism development.
