Central Taichung is bustling with many unique shops and delicious eats, boasting a thriving cultural and creative industry. It’s also very convenient to get around—whether you're traveling north or south, just take a high-speed rail to Taichung Station, and from there, you can reach the rest of the attractions by bus, making it perfect for a relaxing two-day getaway.

Day 1: Take high-speed rail to Taichung Station → Transfer to an express bus to central Taichung → Art Bank → Jihguang Engineering Office → Stroll along Xinsheng Bridge over Green River → Lunch → 20th Warehouse Art Zone → Taichung Cultural and Creative Industries Park → Check in at nearby accommodation → Zhongxiao Night Market or Zhonghua Road Night Market

The concept of the Art Bank involves the government purchasing artworks by domestic artists and leasing them to government departments, public and private legal entities, or private companies. Currently, it has collected works from 1,019 artists, totaling 1,847 pieces, including various types such as oil paintings, acrylics, watercolors, ink wash, prints, photography, calligraphy, sculpture, mixed media, installations, and new media.

Located on Jihguang Street in central Taichung, the Jihguang Engineering Office was originally a factory on the first floor and residential space on the second. After being renovated, the old building has been given new life and now serves functions such as hosting lectures, adding more vitality to the regeneration of the old city.

The scenic Green River in central Taichung during the Japanese colonial period was stunningly beautiful, running through the bustling streets of the area and often compared to Kyoto’s Kamo River in Japan, earning it the nickname “Little Kyoto.” It was also the first in the country to register a trademark for a riverside area, designing an exclusive brand for Green River, which is applied to surrounding infrastructure and products, highlighting the river’s new value.
