The Taichung City Government actively promoted the “Central District Industrial Regeneration – Realizing Greater Taichung” plan, which gained support from the international-level L'Parc Hotel Management Group. In November 2014, after approval from the Taichung City Urban Development Bureau for a land use change, an investment of NT$8 billion was made to establish “Taichung Le Méridien L'Parc” on the former site of Jinsha Department Store. The groundbreaking ceremony was held in March 2015, with completion expected in 2017, trial operations in late 2017, and official opening on January 1, 2018. The hotel is planned to have approximately 235 rooms, along with premium dining services and meeting spaces, adding further highlights to the overall revitalization of central Taichung. At the groundbreaking press conference, Mayor Lin Chia-lung stated that the response from the L'Parc Group will be a leader in the regeneration of the central district, successfully attracting a commercial agglomeration effect and projected to create over 500 job opportunities, invigorating the area.

The L'Parc Hotel management group originally started as Songzhe Accounting Firm before branching into hotel management. In 2003, it established the Royal Seasons Hotel brand and subsequently collaborated with international hotel groups. In 2013, it launched a capsule hotel brand offering accommodations tailored for backpackers. Between 2013 and 2014, it further partnered with the Le Méridien brand under Starwood Hotels & Resorts. In early 2014, it began collaborating with the art-focused Le Méridien brand under the U.S.-based Starwood International Hotel Group, moving toward higher-end hotel management and services. This led to the establishment of Taichung Le Méridien L'Parc, and the official registration of L'Parc Hotel Management Group in spring 2014.
In the future, central Taichung is expected to see a growing number of tourist attractions, accommodation facilities, and diverse transportation options, promising significant benefits for tourism.
