The 2015 "Nice to Meet You, Taichung" Old Town Life Festival stirred conversations around urban regeneration, neighborhood creativity, and civic engagement. With thoughtfully curated events and guided tours, it met the needs of a variety of participants and provided numerous ways to discover the old town of Taichung. The 2016 edition continues with the theme "Countdown to New Days," aiming to draw even more attention, unearth hidden gems, and spark deeper discussions—transforming the old town from a place that's merely seen to one that's truly experienced. Here, the concept of a "Creative City, Capital of Life" takes root in the historic district.

The old town, the birthplace of Taichung’s development, has a wealth of cultural heritage and countless stories thanks to the establishment of Taichung Railway Station. The 2015 Old Town Life Festival opened the curtain for the area to tell its own story. This moment stirred the alleys, artisans, industries, art, and daily life of the old town—where historical assets and new creativity have long been quietly intersecting.
