Nanjing Lingyan Mountain Scenic Area

The Lingyan Mountain Scenic Area is located 5 kilometers southeast of the main urban area of Luhe District. It is adjacent to the Ninglian, Ningtong, and Yongliu expressways, with the Jinjiang Highway running through the site, offering convenient transportation. The mountain stands at an elevation of 170 meters, covers a forested area of 5,953 mu, and has a forest coverage rate of over 98%.

The mountain body of Lingyan is primarily composed of basalt. Since ancient times, it has been known as the “Number One Mountain in Luhe.” “The mountain has no sharp peaks, its rocky layers rise steeply, uniform on all sides, and often marked by spiritual omens between the rocks”—hence the name Lingyan (Spiritual Rock). The scenery of Lingyan Mountain is also enchanting. Verdant pines and cypresses provide a lush setting, with spring-like beauty throughout the seasons, picturesque landscapes, and a scene straight out of a paradise. Hikers feel as if they’ve entered a hidden utopia, and from the mountaintop, one can gaze upon thousands of miles of green fields.

Lingyan Mountain is a major source of Yuhua stones. The mountain is also home to numerous historical sites and scenic spots; natural attractions such as the Crescent Moon Cliff, Immortal’s Cave, Deer Running Spring, and White Dragon Pool are not only remarkably beautiful but also surrounded by captivating legends. “Lingyan Snow Accumulation” is one of the Eight Scenic Views of Luhe.
