2010 Featured Night Markets Selection Campaign – Enjoy Free Travel Packages

Since the launch of the “2010 Featured Night Markets Selection Campaign,” the list of 10 featured night markets currently in the final selection round includes Keelung Miaokou Night Market, Shilin Tourist Night Market, Huaxi Street Tourist Night Market, Ningxia Night Market, Fengjia Tourist Night Market, Chiayi Wenhua Road Night Market, Tainan Garden Night Market, Kaohsiung Liuhexi Night Market, Fengshan City Zhonghua Street Tourist Night Market, and Luodong Night Market. Then, through public online voting and on-site evaluations by judges, five distinctive night markets will be selected as the “Most Environmentally Friendly,” “Most Tourist-Friendly,” “Most Charming,” “Most Fun to Explore,” and “Most Delicious,” aiming to attract more domestic and international visitors.

The “2010 Featured Night Markets Selection Campaign” will run for one month. Starting now, the public can vote online for a chance to win a carefully prepared travel package worth NT$25,000 from the Tourism Bureau; in addition, there are also 100 quality gifts up for grabs. Furthermore, the Tourism Bureau has arranged a panel of professional judges to conduct undercover visits to the shortlisted night markets for scoring, enhancing the credibility of the rankings.

In addition to the online event, the Tourism Bureau will also distribute 10,000 night market food vouchers this year to foreign visitors coming to Taiwan, allowing them to easily sample Taiwan’s night market snacks. This not only helps raise the profile of Taiwan’s night markets but also allows for a deeper experience of the cultural charm of night market tourism.
