Nanjing Taizi Mountain Park

Taizi Mountain Park is located in Dachang Town, Luhe District, Nanjing, covering a total area of 21.64 hectares, including 3 hectares of water surface and a green space ratio of 75%. The park has a perimeter of 1.5 kilometers and is named after the mountain. It is a comprehensive park under the jurisdiction of Luhe District. Taizi Mountain is a hill that extends eastward from the Laoshan Mountain range, with an elevation of 58.8 meters, making it the highest point in Dachang. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, there was an Taizi Temple to the north of Taizi Mountain. By the time of the Republic of China, although the mountain had become barren, the temple had been repaired several times and remained a popular site for worship. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, a stone tablet inscribed with “Taizi Mountain” and some unusual rocks still remained.

In 1958, construction began on the park here to meet the leisure needs of workers and residents in the satellite town. Trees were planted and mountain paths were built across the hills. The park was completed in 1966. Over the years, the floral displays were gradually adjusted and enriched, scenic spots were arranged, and facilities such as a children’s playground, a greenhouse for flower exhibitions, an underground amusement room, walls, gates, and water and electricity systems were added. A 3-hectare artificial lake was dug, and 2,300 meters of park paths were constructed. With the initial scale of the park formed, it officially opened on October 1, 1984.

Transportation: Take bus 645 or Dachang Route 3 in Nanjing and get off at Taizi Mountain Park; take bus 618, 647, D3, or Liunan Line and get off at Xiaomen Station.
