Yeshan National Mine Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Yeshan National Mine Park is located in Luhe District, Nanjing, adjacent to the Jinniu Lake Scenic Area and the Guizishan Stone Pillar Forest Scenic Area.

The Nanjing Yeshan National Mine Park features mining heritage landscapes as its main attraction, including Wuwang Valley, Tangkou, the Grand Canyon, Fairy Cave, F8 Fault, narrow-gauge railway, steam train, underground tunnels, underground mining levels, and mineral processing relics. These sites are rare, unique, diverse, and typical, serving not only as an excellent classroom for popularizing geological knowledge but also as historical records of mining operations.

Artificial attractions such as the Mining and Casting Pavilion, White Dragon Pool, Stacked Water Source, Divine Turtle Rock, Lakeside Pavilion, and Viewing Platform encapsulate the historical and legendary transformations of Yeshan—from ancient geological shifts, to King Liu Bi of Wu mining copper to cast coins and smelt weapons, to the hometown of the Little White Dragon, and the folklore of the Dragon-Head-Raising Festival on the second day of the second lunar month.

The Mine Park Museum comprehensively displays the development and extraction scenes of Yeshan’s mining industry since the Western Zhou Dynasty, as well as the working and living conditions of mine workers. It makes full use of modern technological elements such as sound, light, and electricity, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the local customs and historical changes that have shaped Yeshan Iron Mine over the years.

Special Notes

The park’s most distinctive experience is riding the slowest little steam train, where you can sit in a vintage steam locomotive and enjoy views of multiple attractions such as Jinniu Lake Scenic Area and Guizishan Stone Pillar Forest National Geological Park while traveling from north to south.
