Sanjiang Plain Wetland Education Center

The Sanjiang Plain Wetland Education Center is the largest and only specialized exhibition venue in Northeast China that focuses on the Sanjiang Plain wetlands. It integrates display, publicity, education, and scientific research. The center covers a construction area of 2,500 square meters, and its usable space is built without any supporting columns. It consists of four main exhibition halls: the "Overview Hall," "Landscape Hall," "Biodiversity Hall," and "Function and Conservation Hall."

Strolling through the 9-meter-high, 850? cubic-meter miniature landscape hall of the Sanjiang Plain wetlands, visitors are presented with the vivid natural scenery of the region’s pristine wetlands across all four seasons. The hall is divided into five representative sections: small reedgrass, reeds, cattails, forests, and tussock wetlands. The lush green wetlands feature flowing streams, rivers, and pools with rippling blue waters. Among the grass, there are lifelike specimens of first-class nationally protected birds such as the red-crowned crane and oriental white stork, second-class protected species like the white-naped crane and mandarin duck, as well as various other animals. They appear to be playing in the water, soaring in the sky, or foraging in the snow—strikingly realistic. All of this is made possible through cutting-edge technology.

Looking around, the wetland landscape blends seamlessly with a panoramic painting. Through a scientifically designed system of sound, light, and electricity, visitors can sensorily and visually experience the sensations of white clouds and blue skies, lightning and thunder, babbling streams, morning mist, birdsong and cicadas, and rainbows soaring across the sky. It feels as if you are wandering through the vast wetlands of the Sanjiang Plain, immersing yourself in the mysteries and wonders of nature, admiring its beautiful scenery, and finding it hard to tear yourself away.
