Experience the Okinawan-style Kokusai Dori in Taipei’s FuJin Street

Want to immerse yourself in the unique blend of traditional Japanese and tropical vibes from Okinawa without flying all the way? Just head to FuJin Street in Taipei. Hosted by the Okinawa Tourism Convention Bureau and co-organized by the popular lifestyle store “FuJin Tree Fujin Tree,” the “haveAnice...OKINAWA” series of events runs from now until November 26. Every shop under the FuJin Tree banner is infused with an Okinawan theme—just walking through feels like a mini Okinawa tour. On weekends, there are also fun workshops, making it perfect for anyone eager to get closer to Okinawan culture.

The POP-STORE “haveAnice...479” on FuJin Street brings a taste of Okinawa to Taiwan, with the entire shop brimming with the island’s distinctive charm. The shelves are lined with a variety of fashion items and creative goods handpicked by haveAnice. Even a casual browse is sure to lift your spirits.

In addition, every weekend, the store hosts workshops that offer an up-close experience of traditional Okinawan culture. Over the weekend of November 26–27, local Okinawan artisans will demonstrate “Ryukyu Bingata dyeing.” Those interested can sign up online in advance.

In addition to “haveAnice...479,” various FuJin Tree shops are running Okinawa-themed events during the campaign period. For example, Fujin Tree 353 Cafe by simple kaffa is offering a limited drink: “Black Sugar Latte with Okinawan Tea Sweets.” Meanwhile, FuJin Tree Taiwanese Cuisine Champagne is serving dishes presented in Okinawan pottery “Yachimu” and Ryukyu glassware, giving the feel of enjoying Taiwanese food in Okinawa—a novel and delightful experience.
