The FuJin Street community in Taipei’s Songshan District is surrounded by numerous parks, greenery, and tree-lined paths—distinct from typical Taipei streets and perfect for strolling while enjoying a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere. As a result, the alleys of FuJin Street have gathered many unique boutiques and cafés, and recently, gourmet restaurants have also begun to set up shop. Many people visit here on weekends not only to browse the shops but also to enjoy a cup of coffee and a delicious meal.

Taiwanese cuisine with champagne? Is it a mismatch or a perfect pairing? A new shop has recently opened on FuJin Street in the Minsheng community. With a simple and sleek exterior and an outdoor dining area, the interior is decorated in a natural wood style that at first glance looks like a café. But don’t be fooled—the place serves Taiwanese cuisine. Its straightforward name, “FuJin Tree Taiwanese Cuisine Champagne,” isn’t just about Taiwanese food; it also offers premium champagne and red and white wines.

Currently, FuJin Tree Taiwanese Cuisine Champagne offers about 20 dishes, including kimchi stinky tofu, fennel baked eggs, soy-marinated pork intestines with ginger slices, and rice noodles. Though the menu is simple, it captures the essence of Taiwanese cuisine. The dining experience follows a French-style rhythm, allowing guests to savor their meals. The restaurant says it will continue to add more dishes in the future. Inspired by foreign eateries, it asks guests what wine they’d like to drink—or whether they’d prefer a glass of champagne—even before the meal begins (the first page of the menu is entirely wine and drink options), letting diners enjoy the pleasure of both “drinking and dining.”

Kyushu Pancake Coffee
The Japanese pancake specialty store “Kyushu Pancake Coffee” is located on FuJin Street in Taipei’s Minsheng community. Aside from its flagship store in Daikanyama, Japan, Taiwan is its second location—and its first overseas branch. The pancakes at Kyushu Pancake Coffee are made using seven types of locally sourced wheat and grains from Kyushu, Japan. They are committed to preserving the natural flavor of the grains, completely avoiding emulsifiers, flavorings, modified starches, and aluminum-containing leavening agents, ensuring customers can enjoy their food with peace of mind and health in mind.

Since Kyushu Pancakes are made with natural wheat, black rice, sticky millet, sprouted barley, purple rice, red glutinous rice, japonica rice, and cane sugar, compared to regular pancakes, they are less sweet but richer in wheat and grain aroma. Without added emulsifiers, flavorings, modified starches, or leavening agents, diners don’t have to worry about food safety. The café has 36 seats, accepts reservations, but also keeps some walk-in spots available. If reservations are full, customers can wait on-site.

CURRY & Coffee by Fujin Tree
The curry at CURRY & Coffee by Fujin Tree skillfully balances intense Indian-style curries packed with spices and milder Japanese-style curries based on fruits, vegetables, and honey, creating a new equilibrium. The result is a mildly spicy, perfectly balanced flavor. The shop offers four types of curry, as well as a fully vegetarian curry made with tomatoes and beans.
