Nine-Petal Lotus Mountain is a historic mountain in Jilin Province, located in Qingsong Xinkai Village, Kaiyuan Township, Shulan City. It lies 2 kilometers from Qi-Qing Highway, 1.9 kilometers from the township government, and 45 kilometers from Shulan City, with an elevation of 517 meters. The mountain is composed of nine peaks arranged in a ring shape, covering an area of 843 hectares. Viewed from afar, it resembles a blooming nine-petal lotus, complemented by a lotus pond at its base—hence the name Nine-Petal Lotus Mountain. Nestled amidst lush pines and cypresses, a grand temple complex stands out strikingly under the sunlight, resplendent and majestic, nestled within the embrace of the mountain. It is a renowned tri-religion (Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism) tourist destination in Jilin Province, especially well-known in Heilongjiang Province.

The "Mingzhen Temple" on Nine-Petal Lotus Mountain was first built in the ninth year of the Republic of China (1920). The temple is grand in scale, housing a total of 46 copper statues of various sizes. It was established and managed by clergy from Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism, and was also commonly referred to as the "Three Religions Temple." During the Cultural Revolution, the statues were destroyed, and the temple buildings were demolished. In 1995, it was rebuilt and renamed Fayun Temple. With an investment of 8 million yuan, structures such as the Mahavira Hall, the Heavenly King Hall, and the Yama Exhibition Hall have been constructed. Recently, the Kaiyuan Township government has initiated the development and construction of the Nine-Petal Lotus Mountain Forest Park, and plans to launch a two-day tour route around the mountain within three years.
